Gevorg (George) Pogossian, Ph.D.
About
Prior to moving to the United States, Gevorg (George) Pogossian gained a wide range of international experience when advising a broad range of domestic and international companies, including United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, (UNHCR), Armenia Securities Exchange (AMX), and The Center for International Private Enterprise. During these years, he represented clients in complex litigations as well as drafted, negotiated, and advised on complex transactions in a broad range of civil and administrative law matters.
Gevorg (George) was only 25 years old when he received his Ph.D. degree in law and became a lecturer at the Academy of Justice of Armenia and Yerevan State University.
Gevorg (George) gained his U.S. education at the University of Southern California (USC), Gould School of Law, earning a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree, graduating with highest honors, and becoming a member of the PKP Honor Society. Before USC, Gevorg (George) earned the highest honors in other LL.M. degrees from Yerevan State University and American University of Armenia, graduating valedictorian. All of these specialized master’s degrees afforded him the level of expertise necessary to tackle high-profile problems and work efficiently to achieve meaningful solutions.
Gevorg (George) began his legal career as a Judge Clerk for the Honorable Justice at the Cassation (Supreme) Court of the Republic of Armenia. He has since zealously managed complex litigation relating to Civil and Administrative Law areas. Furthermore, Gevorg (George) was hand-selected by one of the global law firms to successfully serve as an expert witness in Armenian law in front of the London Court of International Arbitration. Until July 2022, Gevorg (George) was a member of the board of trustees of the Corporate Governance Center of Armenia.
Gevorg (George) has acquired substantial experience in complex Civil and Consumer Litigation, Class Actions, and Insurance Bad Faith by working for reputable law firms in the United States.
During his law school years, Gevorg (George) has participated numerous times in renowned international moot courts such as Phillip C. Jessup International Moot Court Competition in Washington D.C. and International Humanitarian Law Nuremberg Moot Court in Nuremberg.
Gevorg (George) is fluent in English, Spanish, Armenian, and Russian.
